John Fitzgerald Kennedy the 35th president of the United States faced a number of foreign crises, especially in Cuba and Berlin, but managed to secure such achievements as the Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty and the Alliance for Progress. JFK was assassinated while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.

The Warren Commission was appointed by US president Lyndon B Johnson to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assassination of JFK in Dallas on November 22, 1963, and the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin.

Chairman of the commission was the chief justice of the United States, Earl Warren.
